Arcelor introduces the high steel grade S 460 AP (Arcelor Piling).
This new steel grade has a minimum yield strength of 460 N/mm2 and a minimum tensile strenght of 550 N/mm2.
Advantages of the S 460 AP steel grade:
High strength steels are a very economical solution if it comes to resisting high bending moments.
High strength steels are also suitable for welding with the known welding techniques (arc welding, submerged arc welding and gas-shielded metal arc welding). The guidelines for welding fine grained construction steels with the same yield strength have to be taken into account.
